If any of you care (most probably don’t) I’ve created a blog to accompany my two month trip to London. You can follow it and read my adventures, or not follow it and look at my pictures of cats.
Either is cool.

People use their own experiences to belittle mine.
I made a joke on my facebook about baggage weight limits for airlines. Two friends responded with more jokes, and a guy who is a friend-of-a-friend-but-kinda-a-friend comments with “WELL I got to take me two bags to spain for FREE. you need to learn to pack!”
First of all, rude. Very rude.
A. you have no idea where I am going, or for how long.
B. I didn’t need two suitcases even, except I was one pound over the limit (which was the joke), so I could actually hazard a guess that I’m BETTER at packing than you.
C. You don’t know what’s required of me. I’m glad on your trip to Spain you could pack 2 pairs of jeans and ten t-shirts, but I have to bring my own linens, towels, casual clothes, work clothes, and my toiletries bag which has my mousse and things in it (hint, the bag is pretty huge for a makeup case).
This tags right into one of my huge pet peeves about people who belittle your experiences with their own. “Oh, your dog died and you’re sad? Well you have NO RIGHT to be sad because my GRANDDAD died LAST YEAR and that’s WAY WORSE.” (That statement was actually said to me when I refused a hug from a girl I didn’t know very well because I wasn’t feeling much like hugs). Yeah, you know what? It sucks that your grandfather died. I’ve had mine die too and it blows. But I didn’t know him. Don’t belittle me because my experiences are perceived as “better” than yours. Telling me I had “no right” to be sad because my dog was dead because YOUR grandpa died last year is not only ridiculously rude, but self centered.
And so is telling me to “learn to pack” because my bag was 1 pound over the weight limit, and I have to pay an extra fee for two.

Censorship Towel
Product concept is a flesh-coloured towel with pixelated pattern.
[link]
If you need an example of white privilege, look no farther. Why is this towel considered “flesh colored” when it comes in white people flesh only? Wouldn’t “flesh colored” be a multitude of colors?
Or is it because this society sees white flesh as the default, and all other flesh as the other.
WHITE PRIVILEGE
Because it’s a “product concept” If you go to the designers page (via simple google), it’s concept-only and not in production. Therefore, they probably made these towels in photoshop or something. You can’t actually buy them (according to the creator, if someone’s stolen the idea then I can’t speak for them).
I’m not saying that white privilege doesn’t exist, but google something before jumping to conclusions.
